President – Margie Sydney
Margie welcomed all members to the meeting. Maria introduced her guest Christine McClandan. She thanked Rod and Rich for setting up the microphones and AV equipment. She thanked and recognized our hospitality team Barbara, Mary Ellen, Ruth andCarolyn for the delicious lunch. She thanked everyone for their efforts to make Members Plus 1 day so successful. We had 60 attendees including 14 guests, 7 of which we will be voting on as new members today. This event brought in over $700 between guest fees and drawings. She noted that last month’s meeting minutes and treasurer’s report were circulated and asked for discussion or correction. As there were none, the reports were accepted as posted. She stated that Penny Pines collection is now just over $58 which about 20% of her goal of $300. She reported that she and Joanna attended the Federated Garden Clubs last Roundtable in Goshen on November 7th. Many topics were discussed and they are especially interested in saving some money on club insurance and exploring insurance for our president and officers. We can avail ourselves to a free graphic design program called Canva or printing flyers, rack
cards etc. She reminded the group about our Holiday Luncheon on December 19th at On the Waterfront Restaurant. She noted that sign up sheets are on the tables and on our website and the that replies and checks should be sent to Joanna or via our website using PayPal. A collection for Safe Futures will be done that day and delivery planned as able. Jan inquired about gluten-free options for members and it was decided that Kayla will call the restaurant. Margie reported on our Drop Box workshop which was done on November 13th. She noted noted that having a central place to store our documents will make it easy for officers and committee chairpersons to collaborate and to pass on pertinent information easily at time of transition.
